Our Passion

When we started our first homebrew years ago, we really didn’t know where the hobby would take us. We had a lot to learn about the styles and varieties of mead that were out there, and there were only a few meaderies operating and selling in our market. Most of the meads we found were overly sweet, young, or blends of honey wine and another wine.

We decided that great mead, like great wine, needs the chance to age, to develop the complexities of its character, while showcasing the style, and uniqueness of the honey flavors. Our core meads are aged for a year before we bottle.

The best-tasting food comes from your own garden. We believe that is also true of honey; the next best honey is sourced locally. Dragon Meadery® uses locally sourced honey in our meads and incorporates fresh, in-season produce when available.
